Master of Science (Technology)The University of Waikato |
The University of Waikato | between 1 and 2 years | ► Show details
A Master of Science (Technology) (MSc(Tech)) is normally a two year coherent, advanced programme of study building on the specialisation of the BSc(Tech) degree, which combines taught papers with an applied or industrial based research thesis or dissertation. The programme includes two papers on industrial technology and innovation. The MSc (Tech) degree provides its graduates with advanced technical ability relevant to their area of specialisation. It gives them a great depth and breadth of knowledge of science and technology, particularly with regard to the technological problems in the industrial sector of the New Zealand economy. It is a prime characteristic of a University degree to have teaching informed by research. The MSc(Tech) exemplifies this by integrating taught papers with research practice. Our staff have acquired national and international reputations in their subjects and place emphasis on maintaining a fruitful balance between the growth areas of scientific endeavour and applied technological applications of that knowledge. The Faculty has extensive contacts within local industry and crown research institutes. For more information please click on one of the links below. |
